In this article, we will not delve into the nerdy topics of skin structure. And certainly not touch on the topic of cosmetics, considering its positive and negative qualities. Everyone can read all this on the website skindoctor. We will simply suggest how to take good care of your skin and name the cosmetics that will be involved.

Let's start with dehydrated skin care. Although this skin type is not officially recognized by any textbooks, however, it is the most common.

Signs of dehydrated skin - tightness after washing with water, when your hands unconsciously reach to open a jar of cream to quickly get rid of this unpleasant feeling, which feels like a rubber mask on the skin.

Dehydrated skin can be dry, oily, combination or sensitive. Therefore, the proposed care regimen can be used by absolutely everyone.

Speaking in terms of skin structure, dehydrated skin is a skin condition in which there is a low percentage of moisture within the skin. Not to be confused with water. The moisture inside the skin is not water, it is a special substance that does not even remotely resemble H2O. And this moisture is formed not from external exposure to water, not from washing with water, but from within. That is why it is so important to drink at least 8 glasses of liquid a day, so that the skin receives moisture from the body. In parallel, it is necessary to organize skin care so that moisture does not evaporate from the surface of the skin.

DEHYDRATED SKIN CARE

REMEMBER! You don't need to include eye creams, age-defying creams, creams for oily skin, etc. in this care regimen. If your skin has enlarged pores, if it is flaky, if wrinkles have accumulated around the eyes, once you get rid of dehydration, many of your problems will disappear on their own.

Do not rush to do peeling, mesotherapy or other cosmetic procedures on dehydrated skin, if it has at least a slight feeling of tightness. Be patient, restore the skin first. And only then apply radical measures. But you will hardly need them. You can have fresh, healthy, smooth skin at a young age without cosmetology, but only with proper care.

Stage One - CLEANING

Skin cleansing should be done with the simplest cleansers, the composition of which consists of no more than 7-10 ingredients. In order to choose such a cleanser, you should be guided not by the name of the brand, not by the recommendations of others and certainly not by the howls of advertising.

Look at the composition. The second, third or fourth place on the list should be surfactants or surfactants, only thanks to which the skin can be washed of dirt and residues of decorative cosmetics. No other substances, let them be a thousand times natural, do not have such powerful cleansing properties. The best surfactants that are great for the skin are:

Sodium Laureth Sulfate
Cocamidopropyl Betaine

An example of such cleansers is "Baby Shampoo" by Johnson@Johnson. However, even if you hold it in your hands, be sure to read the composition. Some manufacturers add to this shampoo instead of Sodium Laureth Sulfate - Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. Be careful!

Only these surfactants are able to clean decorative cosmetics without a trace. This is very important, because makeup residues can be trapped in wrinkles and folds, gradually deepening and widening them. As a result, the so-called "first signs of aging" are formed on the face. Although in fact the skin does not age. It's just been improperly cared for. Very weak surfactants were used for cleansing, which are not able to remove makeup completely.

In the morning, it is better not to use cleansers for dehydrated skin. Dehydrated skin does not need water. Therefore, you should make sure that your skin comes into contact with water as little as possible. Therefore, in the morning it is best to wipe the skin with a base oil, not to wash with water and certainly not to use a cleanser.

But if you can't go on with your day without washing, if you have sensitive skin, then in such cases, apply one of the base oils first: virgin olive oil, macadamia, sesame, jojobu, etc. And then use a cleanser.

Second stage - TONIZING

Unfortunately, our skin can't tolerate alkaline. And all cleansers are alkaline. In order to reduce the damaging effect of alkaline on our skin, acidic toners should be used after cleansing.

Not cosmetics that have the word "tonic" in the name, but real tonics, which should have the following designation on the label: pH and numbers next to it. For example, pH5.6. Memorize these two letters pH and pay attention to them when buying tonic. If there is no pH, it means that the tonic is not acidic. And we only want an acidic toner. So don't waste your money on cosmetics that manufacturers have misleadingly called "tonic". Look for the pH designation and only then buy it.

However, for this step, you can also use acidic food products that every hostess is sure to have. These include curd whey, kefir, sour milk, red grape wine, etc.

You can buy 70% aqueous glycolic acid solution, which contains only water and glycolic acid and no other ingredients. It is obligatory to buy special papers with which you can determine the acidity or pH level of any liquid.

Pour some glycolic acid into another glass dish, add water, preferably distilled or melted water, and measure the pH of the resulting solution. If the pH is from 2 to 5, then in this case you should add a couple more drops of water to make the pH from 5.5 to 7.0. The resulting solution can be used as a tonic.

CANNOT use a pure glycolic acid solution! CANNOT dilute glycolic acid with a pH lower than 5.5 and use it as a toner. If the pH is lower, this solution is called a peeling solution. Continuous use of such a low acid solution can lead to severe flaking of the skin.

Toning with glycolic acid is not a bad idea to alternate with toning with sour milk or kefir.

The third stage is the IMPROVEMENT.

At the first stage of care, in order to remove the feeling of tightness, it is best to use petroleum jelly as a moisturizer. Not petroleum jelly, but petroleum jelly, well purified, preferably imported, as it is odorless. Apply in the evening before going to bed with warm hands. In the morning - wash off with a cleanser. You can alternate with base oils. Two-three days of petroleum jelly - two-three days - base oil.

If your skin is not just dehydrated but is already moving into the sensitive stage, you should first apply a base oil or petroleum jelly before cleansing, then cleanse with a cleanser, tone and moisturize.

Unpleasant sensations may occur during the process of skin recovery from dehydration. The skin may initially feel tight and flaky. In such situations, Vaseline should be applied at night and not washed off all day. The more vaseline, the less water - the faster the skin will be filled with moisture.

Vaseline has a unique feature - it covers the surface of the skin with an impermeable film, under which moisture accumulates. Once enough moisture has accumulated, it is better not to use petroleum jelly or petroleum jelly creams for moisturizing.

This scheme should be followed until the feeling of tightness completely disappears. After that, you should completely abandon petroleum jelly, choosing other creams for moisturizing. The first two stages can be kept.
