Carpeting

The floor can be warm thanks to the carpet laid, after which we can walk barefoot without feeling cold. Nevertheless, with a wide range of products, it is difficult to choose a carpet for a particular room. Before buying, you should pay attention to some features of the carpet product.

Method of production:

  • woven carpets - they are made from sheep's natural wool, while containing a small portion of synthetic fibers
  • Tufted carpets are "canvas yarn" and are made by hand or with a special machine.

 Two types of fibers are used for carpet production - natural and synthetic. The first type is divided into fibers of animal origin - wool of sheep, goats, camels and of plant origin - coconut fibers, seaweed and cotton.

Synthetic fibers, in turn, are divided into: polyamide, polypropylene, polyester and acrylic.

Synthetic fibers Polyamide (nylon) - has increased resistance to abrasion. Fibers have electrostatic properties and get dirty quickly, special impregnations are used to prevent this;

Polypropylene - the material is characterized by high strength, resistance to solvents, moreover, does not absorb water, which makes it easier to keep clean, unlike the carpet with polyamide;

Polyester - durable and resistant carpet products to sunlight - color is modern, does not change (does not burn out);

Acrylic - have the same properties as natural wool carpets, extremely elastic and soft, therefore not resistant to mechanical damage.

Natural fibers Animal wool, pleasant to the touch, has anti-static properties, does not attract dust, excellent heat accumulation, through which increased thermal insulation and sound insulation of the product. Natural fibers are resistant to abrasion, in addition, have the ability to absorb and release moisture;

Seaweed - resistant to moisture and various stains, in addition, have a high resistance to abrasion, so that such carpets can be used in places of heavy traffic;

Agave fiber (Sisal), has a distinctive natural appearance, characterized by strength but not moisture resistance;

Coconut fibers - carpet products are stiff and hard and have anti-static properties;

Cotton is pleasant to the touch, insulates well acoustically and thermally, and has the ability to absorb moisture.
