Modern medicine believes that the sun's ultraviolet rays can cause damage to human skin. They can cause burns, as well as early aging of the skin and, as a consequence, cancer. To protect the skin, you can, for example, buy glasses and a hat with an umbrella, buy a roof and renew the terrace, but this is not enough. To reliably protect yourself from harmful ultraviolet light, you need to use special means. In order to determine what protection is suitable for you, you need to know your phototype.
People of the Celtic phototype can be in the sunlight for no more than five minutes. These are the owners of red, as well as blond hair, snow-white skin and light eyes. They need to use special means, creams with the highest degree of protection.
People of the European-German type have light-colored eyes and hair, light-colored skin, slightly more resistant than those of the first type. For this type of skin, a cream with high protection is most suitable. People of this type can be exposed to the rays for no more than 15 minutes.
Mixed phototype people have dark skin, light or brown eyes, and dark brown hair. These people can be safely exposed to direct rays for no more than 30 minutes with medium protection.
The Mediterranean, the fourth type, has swarthy skin, dark, almost black hair, and eyes. This type of people can safely sunbathe for more than 40 minutes and use a cream with a minimum degree of protection. The phototype of children's skin is not determined at all. For them there are special products with the most maximum protection.
Sunscreen should be selected based on the special labeling that corresponds to your type. It is best to choose a cream that has a base of natural ingredients with UV filters that reflect harmful rays. Sunscreen should be hypoallergenic and safe and should be applied to the skin about 10-20 minutes before going out in the sun - whether it is the beach, terrace or the roof of the house where the attic stairs lead.
