It's the 21st century out there, which means you can get almost any service you want delivered to your home. You can call home beautician, masseur, you can use the service delivery pizza, and recently my husband even ordered shawarma home. No, don't think I'm a bad hostess, it's just that sometimes you just want to give yourself some time and be lazy. But nevertheless, I usually cook pizza and shawarma myself, because only in this way I can be sure of the quality of the final dish. Let's make shawarma together today for our favorite households, make them happy. So, for 4 servings we need:
thin pita, 4 sheets
half a small cabbage
2 ripe tomatoes
2 pickled or pickled cucumbers
sour cream (or mayonnaise)
couple of garlic cloves
a little ketchup or tomato paste
1 large chicken breast
100 grams of your favorite cheese
Preparation is very simple, even a child can cope. Cut chicken breast into thin strips and fry until cooked in a small amount of vegetable oil. If you have time, you can bake the breast in the oven and already ready to cut, so it will be healthier, as you will cook without oil. Set aside the finished meat for a while. Let's get to the vegetables. Cut the tomatoes into straws. If you do not like the skin, then scald the tomatoes with boiling water, then it will be easy to remove the skin. Cut the cucumbers into slices as well. Shred the cabbage finely. Grate the cheese on a coarse grater. Mix all the ingredients.
Prepare the sauce. In a separate bowl mix sour cream (or mayonnaise) and ketchup (or tomato paste). In the same bowl add garlic, pressed through a garlic press. If you don't have one, you can grate the cloves on a fine grater or try chopping them finely with a knife.
All that's left is to put all the pieces together. Unroll the pita on the table, brush the surface with the sauce. Since you've already mixed all the ingredients, what's left is to put 1/4 of your mixture on the pita and roll it all up.
Next, you have 3 options. First: you can heat your shawarma on a dry frying pan (you can also use a grill pan, then beautiful stripes will appear on the finished dish). Second: put it in the oven for 10-15 minutes (at 180 degrees). And the last one, you can just warm it in the microwave. All this is necessary for the cheese that you added to the dish to melt, and simply, a hot dish is tastier to eat!
I hope you and your family enjoy the homemade shawarma.
Bon appetit!
